ABOUT
Luna Wirtz-Ortvald strives to be an architectural designer, re-thinking our means of construction, by working within the field of material research, architectural history and building cultures.
With her fascination for vernacular architecture and transformation, she finds great value in researching and understanding past building methods, as these techniques were developed with a clear understanding and awareness for their respective environment. A notion that we seem to have lost in our western building industry.
Her work process is often informed by in-depth research into materials, crafts, traditions and entangled systems, while translating this knowledge through hands-on experimentation into a physical narration.
Luna graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2023 and is currently studing a MA in Spatial Design at The Royal Danish Academy.
Besides her studies, she is open to new collaborations and initiatives︎
